Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous part of Tanzania in East Africa. It is composed of the Zanzibar archipelago in the Indian Ocean, 25-50 km (16-31 min) off the cost of the main land and consists of numerous small island and two large ones. Unguja, the main island refers to informally as Zanzibar and Pemba. The capital of Zanzibar located on the island of Unguja is called Zanzibar city which its historical centre known as stone town.It is a World Heritage site and its claimed to be the only functioning town in East Africa. Zanzibara main industrial are spices growing, tourism and raffia. In particular the Island produces cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and black paper. For this reason, the Island together with the Tanzania Mafia Island are sometimes called the spice island (A team also associated with the Maluku island in Indonesia). Zanzibar is a home of endemic Zanzibar red colobus monkey, the Zanzibar servaline genet and the (possibly extinct) Zanzibar leopard. After breakfast, you will be picked up by our driver/guide for a guided Stone Town Tour. Lunch in stone town restaurant. In the afternoon tour through a Spice Plantation. Dinner and overnight at zhotel Beach Resort. (HB)
